1) PROMO TITLE
BREAK the FAKE Vlogathon 2020: A Vlog Making Contest
2) BRIEF DESCRIPTION
Break the Fake Vlogathon 2020: A Vlog Making Contest is a project of Break The Fake Movement, in coordination with Tayo Foundation and Facebook.
Break the Fake Vlogathon 2020: A Vlog Making Contest intends to educate the younger generation on responsible social media use and how to discern fake from real information. The contest seeks to engage students of CHED accredited tertiary schools and challenge them to produce a short documentary, also for aspiring content creators that are interested in the topic.
3) PROMO PERIOD
The period for the submission of entries is from January 30, 2020 – March 25, 2020. The deadline for the submission of entries is on 11:59 pm of March 25, 2019.

5) PRIZES
Podium finishers:
· 1st place – Php10, 000
· 2nd place – Php8, 000
· 3rd place – Php5, 000
6) WHO CAN JOIN
The contest is open to all who are aged 16 to 40 years old. An entry can be submitted by an individual or a group which can have as many members as possible. The prizes though shall remain the same.
7) DISQUALIFICATION / FORFEITURE
Disqualification from the promo or forfeiture of the prize will be based on any of the following:
A. Participants who do not meet the promo requirements for joining (as stated in Section 6);
B. Entry is submitted beyond the period for submission (as stated in Section 3), as determined by the official date and time the entry was received.
C. Entry has already been submitted to other contests, local or international.
D. Entry that uses music, graphics, and other elements that are not original, licensed or in the public domain.
E. Failure to complete the requirements before the deadline (as stated in Section 8).
F. Relatives of regular employees, contractual, talents, and their relatives up to the second degree of affinity or consanguinity of the following:
- The Break the Fake Movement and all its subsidiaries.
- People reporting regularly to the promoter, sponsor or advertiser under a contract of service and who by the nature of the service they render may have a direct and personal knowledge of the promotion are likewise disqualified.
8) HOW TO JOIN
A. Fill in the required fields:
- Participant’s information (name, address, age, email)
- Upload a hi-resolution poster of the documentary in jpg, or png format with maximum resolution of 960 x 1280px. Maximum poster size must be 5MB.
- Entries will be uploaded directly on YouTube. Video must have a length of 5-15 minutes.
- Title of video entry.
- Synopsis of video entry.
- Subtitles of video entry, if any, in doc or pdf format.
9) SELECTION OF WINNERS
A. Scores shall be computed as follows:
For determining the Top 10: see criteria for judges’ choice
For determining the Top 3: see criteria for judges’ choice
B. A team from Break the Fake Movement will screen all submissions and choose the Finalists. This will be done on March 25, 2020.
The Board of Judges will consist of the following:
a. Head of BMPM Ms Rowena Paraan
b. Chief Aggregator of BMPM Ms Pamela Munji
c. Associate Producer of BMPM Ms Joan Gonzales-Tusi
C. The Board of Judges will screen the Top 20 entries to determine the Top 10 entries, ranking them from first to tenth place. The screening will be done on October 4, 2019, 1-6 p.m, at ABS-CBN Corp., Sgt. Esguerra St., South Triangle, Quezon City in the presence of a DTI representative.
The Board of Judges will consist of the following:
a. ABS CBN and Bayan Mo Ipatrol Mo Reporter Kori Quintos
b. Movie Director, Ms. Kiri Dalena
c. ABS CBN Senior Reporter Jeff Canoy
D. Criteria for judging:
a. For the Finalists
Content (message is correct, clear and adheres to the theme) – 50%
Technical Execution (quality of images, editing, sound design, lighting and other technical aspects positively contribute to the over-all impact of the documentary) – 25%
Creativity (the ability to perceive the topic in new and imaginative ways) – 25%
b. For the Winners
Content (message is correct, clear and adheres to the theme) – 50%
Technical Execution (quality of images, editing, sound design, lighting and other technical aspects positively contribute to the over-all impact of the documentary) – 25%
Creativity (the ability to perceive the topic in new and imaginative ways) – 15%
Originality (technique used is novel and unusual) – 10%
G. The judges’ decision shall be final and irrevocable.

10) NOTIFICATION OF WINNERS AND CLAIMING OF PRIZES
A. Break the Fake Movement shall conduct a validation process before any prize is awarded to the winners.
B. The semifinalists and finalist winner will be notified via email and registered mail by an authorized Break the Fake Movement representative.
C. The Finalists entries will be given Certificates and will be awarded on April 25, 2020.
D. The Top Placers will receive their cash prizes on April 25, 2020.
E. All expenses related to the claiming, availing or enjoying of the prizes not provided for herein are the sole responsibility of the winner, including, but not limited to, local transportation, meals, beverages, incidental charges and gratuities.
F.Prizes are non-transferable and not convertible to cash. If the declared winner fails to attend the event, the prize (certificates and trophies) will be (delivered via courier (LBC or 2Go) at the address provided in the application form). Cash prizes which will not be claimed on the day of the awarding shall be transferred by bank and bank details should be provided by the entrant through email at breakthefakeph@gmail.com.
H. The winner, by joining the promo, authorizes Breakt he Fake movement to disclose and publish their names, their entry and other relevant documentation or content for any platform determined by Break the Fake Movement to any person/s and in any mode or manner as they may deem appropriate in connection with the contest for a period of one (1) year from the announcement of the winner on April 25, 2020.
11) TERMS AND CONDITIONS
A. Participants represent and warrant that, by their participation, they have read, understood and agreed to abide by the complete rules and regulations of the contest.
B. The Participant grants Break the Fake Movement the right to use the Participant’s name, likeness, photograph and biographical material in connection with the promotion and publicity of the Contest.
C. The Participants will retain copyright and ownership of their entries. However, by submitting their entries, the participants hereby agree to grant Break the Fake Movement an exclusive, royalty-free license to use his/her entry until the announcement of winners on April 25, 2020. For the Finalists, the period shall be extended for one year after the announcement of winners on April 25, 2020, provided that after the termination of the period, the license shall be non-exclusive but shall remain royalty-free to Break the Fake Movement.
D. The owners of the video entries submitted retain the right to use the said entries in their personal websites and blogs, but not to enter them in any other contest for the duration of the Competition and until the announcement of the winners, or to use them in any way that defames or damages Break the Fake Movement and/or its affiliates.
E. The participants warrant that he/she/they is/are the sole author/s and owner/s of the material, copyright thereon and of all rights therein; that there exists no adverse claim to or in the work; that neither the video nor any part thereof is a copy of any other work; that neither the work nor any part thereof infringes upon the copyright or any other rights of any person, firm or corporation anywhere in the world.
F. Break the Fake Movement and its affiliates reserve the right to block, remove, or disqualify communications or materials that they determine to be (a) abusive, defamatory, or obscene; (b) fraudulent, deceptive, or misleading; (c) in violation of a copyright, trademark or other intellectual property right of another; (d) violates any law or regulation; or (e) offensive or otherwise unacceptable to Break the Fake Movement and/or its affiliates at their sole discretion in concurrence with DTI.
G. Break the Fake Movement reserves the right to verify the validity and originality of any Video Entry and/or Participant including his or her identity and address and to disqualify any Participant who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these Official Rules or who tampers with the entry process. Break the Fake Movement’s failure to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.
H. Break the Fake Movement and its affiliates disclaim any liability for failure to receive or acknowledge entries arising from force majeure, including acts of God, fires, floods, wars or other disturbances, labor unrest, or other causes beyond their control.
I. Break the Fake Movement and its affiliates shall be free from responsibility in case of injury, accident or death by bearer of the prize.
J. Participants will defend and indemnify Break the Fake Movement and/or its affiliates, directors, officers, and employees against all liabilities, damages, losses, costs, fees (including legal fees), and expenses relating to (i) any allegation or third-party legal proceeding claiming that use of the video entry infringes or violates the third party’s intellectual property or other rights.
K. Break the Fake Movement and its affiliates reserve the right to amend the rules and revise the mechanics upon notice to the public prior to DTI approval.

CONTROL MEASURES:
Determination and Verification of Winners
1. A DTI representative shall check the computer system for receiving entries, sending acknowledgment receipt and verification of registration details.
2. A list of the properties of the computer program (system description) shall be printed and given to the DTI representative after verification.
3. A DTI representative will be invited on the screening and judging of valid entries during the determination of winners.
4. All information sent by the participants to the registration page shall automatically go to the system database upon clicking the submit button.
5. In case of a tie for the ‘Most Liked’ category, the entries with the most number of ‘Likes’ shall receive trophies.
6. The database shall contain the following information:
· Participant’s information (name, address, date of birth, contact number, email),
· Upload a hi-resolution poster of the documentary – in jpg, or png format with maximum resolution of 960 x 1280px. Maximum poster size must be 5MB.
· Entries will be uploaded directly on the YouTube.Video must have a length of 5-15 minutes.
· Title of video entry.
· Synopsis of video entry.
· Subtitles of video entry if any in doc or pdf format.
7. There will be one administrative (“Admin”) person from Break the Fake Movement who will monitor the promo microsite.
CONTROL MEASURES
Website / Social Media Account Handling
i. All information sent by the participants to the registration page shall automatically go to the system database upon clicking submit.
ii. There will be one administrative (“Admin”) person from Break the Fake Movement who will monitor the promo website.
iii. After compiling the entries sent during the day, the admin shall send the summary of entries to the management for the update prior to the scheduled draw/judging period.
- Those that do not comply with the required elements will be purged from the database.
- Print out of names of those with valid entries to make sure there is no duplication of names.
